This product will be discontinued, so SonicBlue is dumping them now. SE is out of stock but LX is still in stock. IMHO $600 is a steal.

Would it be possible to convert a LE to a SE if a ghost HD image was available?

Anybody willing to post a SE Ghost??

I also noticed that some people are selling an XP version of the same product - still 950+. If anyone has a ghost for that I would like to get my hands on that one. Or the SE for that matter. Just bought my LX and want the other OSs.

Not a typo, SonicBlue sent out promotion email with these links which will put cookie on your machine and reduce the price to $599. It is not very fast (~MMX266) but comparing with the money I spent on panasonic CF-01, this is cheap.

You can get more information from

Hi,

How does this unit compare to the ePods or CF-01?

I will receive my uint on Monday, but from the spec CF-01 and ePod have no comparison to ProGear. Members from Yahoo group reported they installed XP on LX/SE, some are quite happy with the performance. The screen is 1024x768 which is much better to surf on the net.

Noticed that it comes with a HD. What size of a HD is it? Thinking this might be my Epods replacement. Still use both Epods and Panasonic CF-01. Got rid of Fujitsu as I never used it.

Tried to buy one tonight only the LX's left and price is back up. Curious why list price is higher for SE than LX? Is it that Linux is that much cheaper than 98SE?

Forgot to mention the promotion ends on 06/28 :p

SE has newer bios than LX and comes with Win98 CD but %500 difference is too much. I think you still can get it from eBay since some people don't like it after playing it a little bit. I like ProGeat because its 10" 1024x 768 TFT and light weight though kinda disappointed to its speed.
