Picked up (BOUGHT) a 120GB SE (8MB Cache) Western digital. The 3 year warranty still in effect sooo far...
Opted for 8MB cache over the Maxtor 2MB. Usually I will buy Maxtor.
It's been my experience that WD and some IBM has a high failure rate at <2yr.
I just bought a 120GB WD drive (the 2MB buffer model) and the box still say 3-year warranty on it. Does that mean they will not honor the warranty after a year even though it states 3-year warranty on the box. I could alway claim that I don't read any technology new releases
Picked up another western digital this afternoon at officemax, Still 3yr warranty!
A Raincheck from last weeks sale...60 GB 7200 RPM for $59. *after rebates* (Reg$99)
They gave me both the $20 instant AND $20 mail in rebate right at the register!
Sales guy said there, I don't have to wait anymore!
Nice guy! Manager was kool too!
