I've noticed some useful new gadgets in the Linksys range. Their BEFSR41W router is a great example, it's identical to the well-known BEFSR41 4-port router with the nifty addition of a PC-Card slot to take a wireless card. This effectively makes it a combo router and wireless access point.
The downside is that it will only recognise the Linksys wireless card. A hacking challenge - who can make it work with another card the fastest!!
They're about $75.00 at Amazon.com
Another notable toy is their ethernet-wireless bridge device, which will add wireless capability to any ethernet-capable device regardless of O/S. Now that's what I call useful.
