The first thing that comes to mind is matching a name with a face, or in the forums case names and numbers of hardware with accurate recognition and identification. My vote is yes so long as its not a server risk.

My vote is no. Same reason, dial-up is slow enough.

I vote yes for the picture... maybe it can be an option for dial-up user to turn off?

I would vote 'No' unless it can be turned off. I'd rather not have to wait for pictures to load. I can click on the link.

I'd have to say no as well - long threads can take a while as-is, and adding pics would only make it a longer wait

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words ! & We NEED some Photos.

Could We Limit Pictures to "Technical Reference Forums" ?

& Maybe a Size Limit (KBs) on Threads ? Comments ???

I vote no as far as forcing a displayed picture. The ability to point a link at a picture is all that is needed. Anyone that wants to see it can just click on it.

Thats an idear, a photo forum to gather the pictures maby a seperate server to open a window. No lost photo's due to dieing links. But the idear of setting pictures to be displayed or not displayed would be nice. I couldnt see any one complaining over that one. But better yet why not try and add that option with a catch. in the area where the picture would have been loaded leave a link. that way a slow dial up could still view the picture in question at his/her delight!!
