There are messages and pictures being posted showing two ways the units are being modified at the factory.
So far there are three seperate people's units shown.
We cannot confirm this directly, because we don't know these people, but enough pictures have been posted.
One "mod" is the BIOS chip is "glued" in with goo, but the IDE is OK.
The other is where a few random IDE pins are cut, and goo is placed on the underside of the board to try to prevent desoldering of the connector.
These are not all that bad in my opinion, and there are posts in the "Technical" area that show solutions.
Codeman is aware and is working on more solutions and doing tests.
