Not really breaking news, but I've been visitng this site daily since the V1 I-Opener and I knew I could count on some patience and level headed guidance.
I want to dive into the Linux pool in a very big way. I work at a medium size transportation company as an IS Project Manager and I'm convinced that Linux is a cost effective solution for companies like ours running on razor thin margins. We don't mind paying for support or outsourcing, but the Microsoft (legal) Licensing is brutal and getting worst and the $$$ required limits our ability to develop and deploy systems we need to compete in a very competitive market.
So, all you Linux Admins out there running multiple Servers point me to the resources and sites where I can get good level headed advice as a newbie Linux admin. As a goal, I would like to convert at least 10 of our 20 mission critical servers to Linux. I prefer sites that are serious linux promoters without the hype and Microsoft fragg'n.
Thanks
If there is a more appropriate forum to post in let me know.
