Has anyone looked at these? CompUSA has them for $149 after rebate. A webcam and server with
wireless. I heard these were Linux based. It has a removeable C/CS lense and does up to
640x480. Can you add a hard drive etc?
Should this be in the Cameras section?

RE:DLink DCS-1000W Webserver Camera (modified 0 times)
Are you planning on getting one? The one thing I would like to do is have it do snapshots instead
of streaming video. From reading I see that it will FTP scheduled shots. I would like one or
more stored on it. I would like to try and avoid Java, even though most browsers now have it.
Thanks

RE:DLink DCS-1000W Webserver Camera (modified 0 times)
Hello. I'm in a bit of a catch 22 with a firmware upgrade on my 1000W. The issue is that the firmware can only be upgraded using the IPView software, and the versions of the IPView software on the D-Link web site can only recognize a camera with a recent firmware! Any ideas for a clever way to upgrade the firmware? (Perhaps the easiest solution would be an older version of the IPView software. My camera is firmware rev. 1.07. Yes, that is ancient; I generally don't upgrade firmware on working products until I need a new feature. Guess that strategy was a bad idea for this camera!)
