While at Wally world this weekend, I came across this for $79.99:
http://www.leapfrog.com/do/findproduct?id=leapster#desc_ProductDetails

The box says it has a 32 bit RISC processor, a DSP and 12 bit color (4096 colors). It uses Flash to deliver its programs to the kids. There is no information on the site and very little on the box. The demo unit was not working so I couldn't check it out fully.

I am thinking this could be a good base for a game hack or even a simple pen based computer.

What do you think?

That looks really cool. Isn't there another kid handheld that's black and white, also called the Leapster? That one has an interface to a PC that lets you download programs off the maker's website and write it to an empty flash cart.

I wish they would have had all these cool things when I was a kid!
