Can anyone identify:
IAppliance @ Halted

And is it worth $30?
(I'm guessing not, but if anyone knows better..)

That store also has the Fujitsu Stylistic 1000 for 30 bucks too...not a bad deal. I'm probably gonna pick one up.

It's an RCA/Thomson unit. I believe it's ARM7 based, so it's not very high performance - but there's a version of Linux for it.

I'd advise passing on it and getting a Websurfer Pro for $100 or less. The PCI slot in the Websurfer Pro makes it more versatile.

Regarding the Stylistic 1000, I bought one at Halted when it was going for $100 a few years ago, so $30 is definitely a great deal. The deal is sweeter if it includes a PCMCIA hard drive.

HSC got back to me:

"The internet tv appliance is made by Zilog, model ZTOAIB-STD01. The software is from Planet Web."

Zilog? Hmm...

My apologies - I jumped the gun and confused it with another STB that I had seen. Anyway, does the Zilog 386sx40 unit have an ISA riser slot? If so, it could be hackable.
