| I discovered the upside down connector the hard way - however, with a slight bit of work with my dremel tool, and a particularly empty case (IBM Netvista case), I was able to get a normal adapter to work. Unfortunately, the CD-ROM had to be mounted upside down. In this case, though, it shouldn't be a problem - as the target system is a router. :)
As it happens, it was a good thing - otherwise, I would have had problems routing the ATA cable. Now, it sticks out to the side, making the cable easy to route.
