For those that are really creative and need special parts for there hacked projects!(also robotics,etc...)

I did not read the terms of use yet, nor check for spyware...beware, its FREE!

eMachineShop is the remarkable new way to get the custom parts you need - the first true online machine shop. Download our free software, draw your part, and click to order - it's that easy! Your part will be machined and delivered. Even better, your cost is low due to the Internet, software, and automated machines.

There is no spyware, but the file format is proprietary to eMachineShop so won't be useful in general. They obviously want you to draw your parts and then submit to them for fabbing. I don't know anyone who has actually had parts fabbed by them, so I don't know what their costs are like. It is a serious effort, though--they have an impressive range of fabrication techniques (machining, sheet metal, diecutting etc.) and say that they are adding capabilities.

I saw this post and was waiting for an opp. to use it. I recently completed my first of hopefully many designs/order. It was very easy to use provided you have a small understanding of the concept and how it works. I am sure most of the people here would have no problem with that. Faced with the prospect of ordering a part from an overseas supplier for my company, and waiting for them to make the custom part ($200) and ship it to us with the included cost, I knew I had my opp. After d/l the software and installing it in a total of less than 5 minutes, not including entering your billing method and shipping addy, I was ready to go. After about 1hr I had my relatively simple part ready for production. I hit the check button and it verified my design, materials and tolerances and came back with a price for 10 which I changed to 1 and re-calculated. Bottom line, $78 including shipping with a door to door time of 21 business days. AWESOME!
