Interesting new clamshell, game playing, Video Now player

I stumbled across the new 'VideoNow XP' player while aisle surfing at Wal-Mart. It's labled 'PVD player' and at first I thought it was a portable DVD player, as the loop on the P goes down quite a bit, which would've been a killer deal for $58. However it only plays VideoNow discs it seems. :/ I didn't pick one up, but it looked interesting, particularly since it seems to be capable of playing games. I didn't see any game discs, nor were there any games listed on the box. It might be interesting to see what kind of gaming ability it has. There wasn't any demo unit out, so I don't know how well it works.

It has a 3" color screen (I can't remember if it said back-lit or not), a directional pad centered left, A and B centered right, and skip back, play, stop, and skip forward along the bottom edge. I thought it looked like the place where the D-Pad and buttons flipped up to alow discs in, but looking at the Wal-Mart page, it may have just been a difference colors to look interesting. Looks a bit like a GameBoy SP sized up a bit, or a really small DVD player.

Has the VideoNow Color format been hacked? Would be neat to watch self-made videos on this unit.

WalMart.com is the only online place that has any info on it, that I've found:

Much more tempting now.

Hmm... I can't find dedicated game discs, but there are some video discs that also have a game on them:

Saw a VideoNow software CD-ROM for Windoze at Target this weekend. For $20, they provide software that converts your static images and .AVI, .WMV, and MPEG-1 (but not MPEG-2) streams to VideoNow format for the player. Can't locate it on their website, so you'll have to search your local store.
