Looks pretty cool for $20. It took almost a half day to get one ordered because the credit card verification kept returning some error about too many transactions.

That does look sweet. It appears that they even included a standard 14-pin through-hole header for us pre-SMT oldfarts.

Is there any Linux host-side support for it? I have a couple of old laptops running Win9x, but nothing with Win2K or XP (which the tech reference says the supplied software requires).

it works under Linux!

http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/8682 - LinuxJournal article, "MSP430 Development with Linux," includes a chip family overview: to 1-60KB flash, 128B-5KB ram.

http://mspgcc.sourceforge.net/ = compiler suite

Very nice packaging, convenient, great utility, and go-anywhere hacking. Unfortunately, they are SOLD OUT everywhere for a long time.

I hope TI learns from this, makes billions of them, and sells them for a dollar each. I want, I want, I want......
