You can get it from http://www.bluedonkey.org/cgi-bin/twiki/bin/view/Linux/DakotaPv2Camera where there are also instructions for stripping the MBR & partition tables that the Linux loop mounter doesn't seem to want (I guess I could have done this in the download code It will cope with the two sets of challenge/response blocks that I found (the original one and the one for folks, like me, with the serial number zeroed out). If I get a chance over the holiday, I will try to clean it up a bit and make it do some other things (like directory listing). It would be very nice to get it to the point that I could just mount the camera as a file system directly, so I might see about that as well - should be possible to modify one of the mass storage device drivers I would think (I know how to read and write blocks after all). I made a batch file that copies access.log to the web directory and renames it to traffic.log. Scheduled task updates it everyday at 9am and 9pm. I've found that you have to clear your browser cache if you visit it more than once. Otherwise, you may be downloading the log out of your cache instead of from the site. Keep in mind that I'm not just hosting the camera site, so the log will show everything. The URL is the same as my camera site, just add the /traffic.log to the end of the URL. Further filtered directory entries It looks like some Windows drivers write uninitialized memory in the directory sectors. Ordinarly there would be 0x00s or valid / deleted file entry structures, but sometimes there is junk which looks like bad files. Now only valid files should be reported. 2. Added the option to verify flash writes 3. Added a percentage to the progress bar. For newbies - The basic usage is: A. Connect yor camera with a USB cable B. Press "Find Camera" C. Press "Connect" D. Press "Unlock Reset" or "Unlock New" (Depending on the state of your camera) E. Download Flash / Get Directory list & download + upload files, etc. - If you select a .TFT you can upload a .BMP and it will be converted to a .TFT - TFTs can be previewed on the camera..... * If you want to patch the Firmware.bin file you will need to download it and patch it yourself with a hex editor, then upload the patched version. RE:Links - 1 2 many 4 all (modified 0 times) billw Profile I tweaked up the pv2flag source to include a patching engine and firmware checksum fixer, and dubbed it "pv2patch". pv2patch is available at the pv2devkit sourceforge site here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/pv2devkit/ Optional patches currently include: ...camera unlock ...change camera PID (foxz2, flatfoto2, or virgin) ...camera mute (gets rid of the beeping) As in pv2flag, all firmware revisions *should* work. All patches are reversable and have been tested in various combinations on my T30-6520 and T27-6430 cameras. Pv2patch can also be used to fix the checksum of a firmware you have modified yourself. I was goofing around with them last night on a CVS "red" that is "fried" (i.e. two beeps when it is plugged into a WinXP USB port, but no LCD screen) and managed to get it to download 2.7MB of data a couple of times. Has anyone else had this happen? I don't think these things are nearly as dead as they initially seem... FWIW, I have an original Ritz Dakota that is happily talking to the SUCR software, this CVS "red" and two, still-in-the-box CVS "blue" cameras. Ideally, I'd like to get a mod to these that allow for a long exposure time, as my hobby is astronomy. If in the exploration of the firmware, anyone stumbles across the means by which the exposure length is determined, I'd like to hear about it. Also (for BillW) : a couple of times I've gotten I/O errors relating to what appear to be overlapping communications on the port. Would it be possible to have a "listen" mode to one of your tools, whereby one can send it some data (either from the console or a file) and then it just listens for some defined period of time, writing whatever it hears to a file? Or perhaps the user could define a data sequence to be a "ping" that would be sent to the camera at a certain frequency, during which time the s/f would listen and record?
