Hmmmm, I too had problems unlocking my camera initially. I only got it to work by fooling around with it. http://vickers.homedns.org/PV2mods.htm had some info on unlocking, but I found that unplugging and restarting didn't work. I was only able to get it to work when I used the technique that I described in my tutorial. Unfortunately, I guess that doesn't work for you. Regardless of the firmware version or TYPEID, PV2Tool should be able to unlock the camera if you fool around with the unlock process. Try any sequence you can think of when it comes to unplugging the camera or clicking the three different buttons to unlock the camera. The "Find Camera" button only has to be clicked once during the time that you have PV2Tool open, so don't worry about clicking that again if you decided to unplug the camera then plug it back in.
In hopes that the info I originally saw on unlocking will help, here's the info found on http://vickers.homedns.org/PV2mods.htm:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Click the 'Find Camera' button. When the camera is found, click the 'Connect' button.
* Click the 'Unlock' button.
* This is where some people get stuck. You may receive an error message like "unable to Unlock". If so, try doing each of these things and try to unlock the camera again:
Click 'Disconnect', and exit the software. Then unplug the camera. Reconnect the camera and start PV2Tool203 again.
Try changing the key used by PV2Tool203 from "Key 1" to "Key 2". ["Key 1" is now "Unlock Reset", "Key 2" is now "Unlock New".] See detail here.
Try disconnecting all the other USB devices connected to your computer.
Try disconnecting the USB cable, then rebooting your computer.
Try each of these methods until you are able to unlock the camera.

Let me know if this was any help. When you figure it out, please tell me what you did. Thanks, good luck.
