OK y'all... here are some pics I took of my 633MHz (sized down to 1024 x 768). As you can see, compared to the 900MHz there are a LOT of differences.

Overhead shot
Close-up of PSU Sticker
Back Side (I/O)
Close-up of Back Top
Close-up of Back Bottom
Front Side
Close-up of Front Top (LCD)
Close-up of Front Bottom (Logo)
Left side
Product Label (on left side if facing the front of the unit)
Primary & Secondary IDE (note 50-pin IDE2)
FDD Connector (26-pin) (Also note silkscreened "Sahara 3810")
Socket 370, DIMM slots, and HDD
PCI riser, HDD behind (Pan right from previous pic)

I didn't feel like disassembling this thing to get any unobstructed views of the processor and HDD. If there's any other views you want to see, let me know.

Also, someone with a 900MHz, please measure the exact dimensions of the PSU. It is a different form factor than the one used in the 633.

wow, thats really surprising; the 633 is completely different than the 900. I'll take some more pics, and i'll measure the PSU.

edit: size of the power supply is 149mm x 82mm x43mm

I am really amazed about the differences between the units! My cel900 is completely different from this Cel633.

I left my Cell900 at work today but will bring it back home tomorrow and can take pics etc as needed. Just lmk if anyone wants to see it, though I think some others may have already made cel900 pics available online...

Hi guys... yeah they are really different. The 900MHz looks to be much more versatile when it comes to modding the hardware components. The only disadvantage I see to it is that it has a VIA chipset (ugh...trying to get away from those :)).

Would either of you mind taking some more pics of your 900MHz box. I'm curious to see if there are any differences in the bezel and how the metal case looks. I wonder if there is any difference in the overall physical dimensions vs. the 633MHz. Again, I'm at home, so I will measure my 633 GW500 tomorrow and post it.

Thanks

Dan

Oh and one other thing, does the 900MHz not have the onboard sound? I see that the IO panel has those headers "boarded up" but this mobo comes with AC97 sound standard IIRC. I couldn't tell from your "innards" pic whether or not the three minijacks were there or not.

I just took a look, and interestingly enough, they were boarded up, as was my on-board ethernet port. But yes, the sound plugs are there.

Was your onboard ethernet enabled in the BIOS? I wonder if that's why there are two PCI ethernet cards in the 900s... I originally figured that they included three to enable a DMZ or something, but if they never removed the cover off the onboard ethernet connector they must not have intended for customers to use it.

it was enabled in the bios; my guess is that the onboard ethernet port doesn't have a linux driver? or perhaps it would just be easier for the end user to see two ports right next to each other clearly labeled.

Wow, that harddrive looks buried deep in there..is there a way to take out the harddrive with out dismantling the entire unit?

Also could you confirm that the LCD is connected to the com2 header?

Thanks for the Photos

There is no easy way to take the HD out without dissassembling the unit, luckily this is pretty easy. Just unhook all of the screws taht hold the front of the unit to the chaissis and pull outward. it is a 1 min job.

by "all the screws" he means 2. Getting this thing apart is a piece of cake and it's fast.

Anyone know how to tell a 633MHz from a 900MHz just by looking at the unopened retail box? Mine is a 633MHz, but I don't know if they also have a 900MHz still sitting in the store or not...
