She's Gone!
The slow and unavoidable death of Maria

This morning I was forced to pronounce the official death of my GallantWeb server.

It would seem her IDE controller finally gave out.
I suppose it's my fault actually. Hardly a month would go by
without my having to open her up and try and re-install Linux
or something.

I was one of the lucky few, who managed to find her at CompUSA
for only $100 dollars. I guess I got what I paid for.

Anyway. I thought I should let you all know.

My beloved Maria is no longer with us. *sniff*

how about sticking a pci ide controller in her. Not sure how dead yours is...but if it posts atleast you could try that.

I'm pretty sure that sticking a PCI controller like a Promise Ultra TX2 will work fine. So perhaps "Maria" isn't really dead after all. :)
