In looking over alot of information about this Intel MoBo.I think its better to put Windows ME on the Dot.Station,as you can only go to Windows 98SE,as Windows 95 and Windows 98 will not work well on this board.you have to keep in mind that the Dot.Station came out in 2000,about the time Windows ME was on the market. Also in Intel questons Intel states Installing ACPI Support in Windows 98 ACPI and suspend to RAM(STR) are fully supported by Windows 98 SE.The standard version of Windows 98 has knowen issues that prevent correct operation of STR. Also because of the legacy reduction and power management features of the Intel Desktop Board D810EMO and ease of use PC in general only the latest operating systems should be used.Specifically the Intel Desktop Board D810EMO is designed to support only usb-aware operating systems,Windows 98 SE or later and Windows 2000.Also if you use Windows 98SE you have to load audio driver 1183min.exe/hub driver ENG13M.EXE/IDE-USB driver INF210.EXE/LAN Driver LAN320.EXE/Video Driver Win9X.EXE.Also Intel mentions To load ACPI during Windows 98SE Installation, type Setup/p J (the J is case sensitive) on the command line to begin the intial OS instalation.Windows 2000 checks the BIOS creation date to determine whether the board supports ACPI.The Intel D810EMO motherboard BIOS is new enough to cause Windows 2000 to enable ACPI power management by default.
