Does anyone know what has happened to the el-muelle.net AOL forum? I have been getting an error message for almost a week now (originating at el-muelle.net rather than the Google translation)

An email I recieved:

Estimado amigo/a: jsmmd

saludos
Att

Dear amigo/a: jsmmd

Due to a serious one of problems in the management of the data base, and the high capacity of which this becoming use, of which we were glad, we are ourselves forced in the next days to make a change of servant, happening the forum from a servant to another one, within our own company, fisico change of maquina.

Thus the next direction, for when you cannot enter, will be the same one but clearing the script to him: http://elmuelle.net/foros in this direction the nuevo.Actualiza forum will be available your Favorites.

The reason for the present is so that, if you need cripples some text or document your interest, because always there are problems at the time of moving these thing, DOES NOT HAVE so that to lose nor a single data, but better you take to an image or text that later you would throw in lack if there were some problem.

The change of dominion will be made of the following form:

We hoped to make it during next week 1, will be closed the forum, you will see a warning of it. In order that post is not lost nor single. 2. The crossing of data bases from a direction of another one was made. 3. forum 4 will be opened. a message was sent to your direction , as much of the day of closing like of the day of opening.

The new servant will give but tranquillity of storage, management, and control us of the data bases.

For that reason we emitted official notice for your information the present, to the time that we requested excuses and if you have been able to perceive some failure, we hoped that later it does not pass anything. We give to ace thanks for your collaboration and attendance you to the Forums of elmuelle.net/foros and hoped to continue having you.

greetings,
Administrador Foros
Fernando Cores

I saw that too, then forgot that fast.

Intersting stuff.

They are selling the D810EMO motherboard for $16 USD. I wonder how much shipping is. Only one way to find out.

Thanks for the new forum link, jsmmd. I've updated my bookmark.

The picture on www.distribucionpakito.com shows a BOXD810EMO, but the description says "Original motherboard of equipment Intel Dot Station. Without Free Bios."

Kludgemeister (dang, I can't type straight tonight. Already had to correct this post twice! !@#$%^ hayfever season... )

Hi, I'm a newbie in this matter of dot.stations but have bought one recently and looking forward to improving it with a PIII (866 MHz), 256 M, 40GB, and a TV card instead the modem. About OS, still doubting Win98SE or WinMe coexisting with Linux.

I could help in Spanish-English translations in case someone needs.

Best wishes

Welcome <luismi>. There is a lot going on regarding the Dot.Station. Please feel free to browse the various sub-topics. There are different "flavors" out there today. Recently a number of us (including myself) purchased BIOS locked down machines referred to as Dot.Bob's. While's up to this time it's been hacked to the point of modifying the Linux OS (and upgrading it)...no one here has been able to hack the bios itself (on the Dot.bob). The Spanish AOL forum references you see are related to an "unlocked" or "uncapped" Dot.Station which has been sold in Europe and Latin America and in the US by Tiger Direct. Currently the solution to uncap the Dot.Bobs' with the most votes is removing the motherboard and replacing the BIOS with a socketed version.

Thanks PeteC, yes, I've been reading a lot of things about cracking, flashing, restoring..., the BIOS (too much!). BTW, I'm wondering if someone has tried to write/restore it with ABAZ version, but using a LS-120 disk unit -conected to IDE bus-, and jumper J8F1 on motherboard open, just how it should be done according to INTEL manual.

At least, ABAZ version seems to get around some difficulties that other versions have.

Vielen Dank, jaume. I have been monitoring the VegaZone forums. For some reason Google translation does not handle page changes correctly all the time, so I have two links directly to the general forum:

and the hardware forum:
