Check this out. A little pricey I suppose but for ready-made custom application setup it's allright...

Ahhh, Another toy.... Looks like someone with experience in plastics fab could wrap a shell around it and make a small "ALL IN ONE" pc.

I've been kinda looking for something like this. Yeah a little pricey, Some folks here WILL cringe.

BTW, I usually NEVER buy the first release of a product. I typically wait a few months for a few revisions to kick in that may have any possible bugs worked out and hopefully a possible drop in price.

After thoughts...

Doing some shopping around and thinking,

IMHO,One could (depending on the application) puchase a Laptop for $300 more...(If one thinks about the additional cost of ITX Mobo,Cpu,Ram,Harddrive,OS,Etc,etc) This should pretty much break even.

Dell (Yes Zmos sez they suk) currently has an Inspiron 1100 for $699 with, 2Ghz Celeron, 14.1" XGA TFT Display that could possibly outperform a little ITX machine...Plus the concept of being somewhat portable, Probably for most IMHO would be a better value,

The only thing is...Why did they(Dell)start using all that IMO butt ugly blue trim on there notebooks...Yuk!

JUST my 2 cents worth.

I agree. To me, the joy of ITX is the ability to put a fully funtioning PC of very small size somewhere it would not normally be. A small, portable computer with a screen has already been done. A complete computer in the back of the silverware tray in your kitchen connected to a TV that may already be there or a small LCD that flips down from under a cabinet so you can watch/e-mail Emeril at the same time, not to mention download recipies, scan stuff in your pantry to make a shopping list and see your kids out back playing... that's what ITX is for.

Or for a home-made PVR that fits in your AV cabinet.

I am collecting the parts to make such a device - the ITX motherboards were a consideration, but I have decided that a slightly wider than normal component will result if I squish a standard, mini ATX motherboards components down to 2.5-3". Still, with ITX I think I can get it down to a small-footprint VCR size package, but the selection of featurs and the price on the ITX boards has made me give up on ITX.

I think that Phantom game console is an ITX though - at under $500 it would seem to be a fairly good option. They are publicly stating thay are discounting it in hopes of regaining profit on the subscriptions. Has this tactic EVER worked for ANYONE????

Oh well - I am not going to warn them and am already trying to think of ways to use the $1K computers that we will be getting for half price...
