New MessageRE:Absurd ways Netpliance could modify the i-opener (modified 0 times) Tackhead
MOD: NPLI gets someone to post the same friggin' message advertising the same friggin' deal in every friggin' thread on the board so that nobody can tell whether the "new" tag in each thread means new content or just another copy of the same friggin' ad they've already ignored 12 friggin' times this morning.

Hack: Abandon the BBS for a USENET newsgroup. If someone subsequently writes a script that copies every post made to the BBS into the newsgroup, the poster of the ads will hit the BI=20 and have his posts autocancelled.

(Ken: Yes, it's your BBS, and you're free to do as you wish. I'm assuming your point was to emphasize how bloody annoying repeated commercial posts are; please take my resulting joke in the spirit in which it was offered.

mod: Fill the case with high amperage capacitors, needing a small change in the design to allow for the 6 high voltage 220 vac wall plugs, the case being one half of the circuit and the second half of the cicuit is threaded in a matix right above the motherboard.
hack: throwing small animals or NP execs into the grid might cause ElectroStatic Discharge thereby erasing the bios doing half the work for you, or you could the stored charge to power a HERF gun aimed at NP HQ =)

New MessageRE:Absurd ways Netpliance could modify the i-opener (modified 0 times) Elvis
Mod: Place pressure sensitive chip inside IO that plays a medley of Barney songs, driving the erstwhile hacker mad, reducing his or her intelligence to the level where they'd actually subscribe to the service, or AOL.

Upon activation, the chip sends flashing instructions to the bios, overwriting the loaded IO bios with one that will flash "Barney said don't open" on the screen, matching the tempo of the song being played every time it's powered on. When powered off, the system uses the built in "Mic" as a speaker for the bios battery powered chip, allowing the song to continue.

Hack:

1. Sell on Ebay as an Actimates pc buddy.
2. Find a young priest, and an old priest.
3. Beat it to death with a thesaurus.
