Alternative uses for the MailStation

Since the MailStation is pretty much useless if you can't switch the ISP information around, has anyone considered just gutting the thing and replacing the innards with something else?

I think that with the built-in modem you could make a nice little text-only VT-100-ish terminal out of it. You got the KB, modem, small LCD display, and an external port. Add some solder here, cut out useless bits there.....

The LCD alone is worth about $50, throw in the keyboard and modem, and it is a much better deal than the $100 for 2 of the EarthTech. junkers.

Ideas?
