Un-Demo a mailstation?
Un-demo a mailstation?

I have a demo mailstation unit. The demo suggests the unit should be fully configurable...

The problem is the demo only pretends. Is there a way to unlock the unit, or is it a seperate OS that was modified for the demos...

Thanks!

Don't know,

But what happens when you do a reset on the machine? Does it behave like the normal machines?

I hit the reset button underneath and it actually nukes any accounts I've made (which didn't work anyway). When I create a new account and try to check mail, I get a window saying it's a demo unit and it pretends to check mail. I'm wondering if there's not even a real modem in it, even though there is a RJ-11 on the back.

My mailstation acts differently on a reset.

It first shows a message stating scanning memory, and has a fillup bar. (not sure of the technical term but the type of graphic filling up a small rectangle)

Then it give a menu entitled "Reset System Data" with the choices
No Clear
Clear Email Data
Clear Address Book Data
Clear Daily Events Data
Clear All Data

Sounds like your's is quite different. Might be time to open it up. Its seven screws, plus unscrew the printer port.
