Hi,

I got a Original MailStation which seems to have a litte problem
I configured the Phone-Number and User-Data but when the MailStation
did try to dial it gets a "No DialTone".

The Phone-Line-Cable is OK ( the two inner contacts are conneted in the RJ-Connector) and
cliped into the Wall Port.

The modem did respond in the Diagnostics-Mode to Commands like AT H1, AT H0, AT &F, AT &W
and AT DT1234 if I switch off the "Wait for Dialtone" with AT X1...
I also configured it with a AT L3, but the Mailstation didnt find the Line

Can the Modem be defective in only the Line-Port and respond to the commands ?

The Relais did CLICK (by ATH1 / ATH0)....

Or did the MailStation (Original) use a non-standard Line-Cable ?
The phone on the Phone-Port did get a Dialtone too if the Line is connected
to the Wall-Port

Any Ideas ?

THANKS

Guido.

just to be sure... could you plug a phone, _thru the mailstation, from the wall, thru the mailstation... into a phone... just to check those connections...?
I've done, Far dummer stuff in the past... and, got, No dial tone... such as, tryin to use a line, that was already connected online with another computer...
good luck!

Hi,

a telephone after the Mailstation did not work at this time...... BUT )
Today I changed the black Cable from my answering-machine to the white RJ45-Cable
from my SEGA Dreamcast and did update my Eumex 306 ISDN-Controller (and analog converter)
from V2.1 (1997) to V2.13 (2000) and did configure te ports from phone to combined device (like Phone with fax).

The black cable has the contacts more in the inner side of the plastic-Connector and the white Connector has the contacts more in the outer(?) (sorry for this very bad english, but I dont know the words right out of my mind).

With the white cable the Connectors get contact to the Mailstation and so the Mailstation could find the dialtone.

Did you use the mailstation here in Germany with T-Online )

Bye
Guido.
