Hi

the back page of the office max flyer has the MailStatio 150 for free. I know I'm a bit late to the gate hacking one of these things but is there any use hacking this particular one? I was thinking about giving it to my inlaws to play with but would like to hook it up to net zero or something.

Please let me know if this unit is hackable.

I just went to get a unit and its rebate form does not mention the requirement for an activation. So, it should be free after the rebate. Regarding the hacking on this unit, I scanned this forum and did not find any usefull information for this particular model; however, I hope I am wrong in this matter. I need to get mine hacked as well.

Must agree with you; however, if you can't hack the unit to change the ISP and e-mail address, the unit is useless. Anyway, the first unit I got had a broken key and I had to go back to get it exchanged with another unit. One thing I noticed with the new exchanged unit is that whenever I unplug the P/S and plug it back, the system goes through a system reset menu. However, once you have the unit reset, it goes in directly to the main menu and can't even change the ISP etc.

Just got a "free" Blue model 150 at Omax... Looks like it it will be a fun device once it can be modded. I put it back in the box w/ out dialing in... until I can learn more.

As in earlier posts...free is free!

Got mine today. One day shipping is great :D I almost fell over it when I was running out the door as I was late to class...but I mananged to spend a minute opening it, putting batteries in, and playing with it :D All I want to do is make it a terminal...and maybe hack in some ethernet :D yeh right heh

Any new information for the MailStation 150? I had one a while back (one of the white, hackable ones), but returned it because the full rebate required activation. Any hope for this 'new' model?
