Yeah, its called Compact Flash. :) You
just need to wire the 40 pin IDE to the
50 pin Compact Flash and you have a FLASH
IDE drive. You can build an adaptor or buy them.

Buy.com stocks them, but >>-->THEY ARE EXPENSIVE<--<<. You will probably be better off (or at least wealthier) thinking about putting your stuff on one of the chips that goes into an adapter that plugs into the USB.
64 Megs of flash goes for $130 delivered these days.

To clarify, what I'm looking for is a Compact Flash *carrier* card, that has a 40 pin ide connection on it... so you can plug a CF card into it and treat it as a removable HD, the motherboard's bios sees it as a hard drive. I think I remember seeing pictures of these once, but never found a supplier.
