This was a very expensive printer when new...It has been used very little, and I have the origonal box, manuals, documentation, software, etc. It has a working set of std. cartridges, 2 sets of std and photo quality cartridges in unknown condition. It has two new sets of std. and photo quality that are brand new. With it comes 20 sheets Alps photo quality paper,20 sheets of ALPS MD photo-realistic paper, 200 sheets of Alps high grade paper. It will print successfully on any uncoated paper, The prints are instantly dry, won't smear, and are water-proof. The prints are unmatched by any kind of inkjet or laser printer. I've used this printer successfully on an I-Opener...parallel port...Win98 on has drivers included on the cdrom. You won't find a better deal on this printer....Here's a link to one that just closed on E-Bay:

I can ship it FedX. Make an offer....before it goes on E-Bay.

I own an Alps MD-1000 (little brother to the MD-1300) and use it for printing glossy CD labels and other documents where ink smearing may be an issue. It's slow (each color requires a single pass) but quality is high. Its ability to use white and metallic inks makes it very unique. Lots of model builders use them to print onto transparent decals (which can't be done on injet or laser printers.) (I also hear that kiddies use them for fake IDs... hmm)

It wasn't very expensive when I purchased it a few years back, but looking at eBay auctions made me realize that there is definitely a demand for these things. Alps no longer sells to the consumer, so they are pretty much only available used.

I have an MD-5000 which I only use for Photography. I was able to purchase the continous dye update reasonably and usually purchase all the color cartridges I can get hold of. I have sent mine in for repair once in the three years that I have owned it. I also have two color Epson printers. While the Epson color is OK; nothing beats the Alps printer for pictures. It is the best photographic printer in terms of quality that I have ever seen. It's expensive to use but well worth it.

Well....I still have this printer for sale. Haven't gone the E-Bay route yet. I never used it for text printing either...only pictures. If you've only seen ink-jet printing, the prints out of the Alps will amaze you....there's nothing on the market anymore that compares....
