I have a extra working Gateway Profile 1 chassis for sale.... A perfect upgrade if you are tired of the slow speed of your hacked i-Opener, GCT or WebPlayer
It includes the base unit plus floppy drive, I will include a 2x DVD drive that I got with it but I am not sure how good the DVD drive is as it booted up a Win98 CD ok, but it wouldn't boot WinXP cd or play the SpiderMan DVD on another Profile computer that I had (face plate matchs the Profile 1 but doesn't have the mounting bracket). This Profile 1 has 3Com 10/100 ethernet, built in 56k modem, two USB ports, ps/2 keyboard mouse ports, 1 printer port, 1 serial RS232 port, and PCMCIA cardbus expansion slots.
Included with the unit is a 800Mhz Celeron coppermine processor (According to Gateway, Coppermine is the limit on the CPU) heat sink is included but it's missing the 5 volt fan.
No memory is included; it uses 144 pin laptop SODIMM memory (two slots up to 256Mb, it may be able to use more if you use the 16 chip design such as it used with the GCT and I-Opener but I have not confirmed this).
No hard drive is included; it uses the standard 2.5" laptop hard drives.
The AC adapter required according to Gateway is a higher than normal 90 watt 19volt adapter, I bought one from Gateway which works fine for my other Profile (It's listed as the Solo 400 AC adapter, $35 and free shipping if you use the NOSHIPA code when checking out.
The LCD is the brightest I have seen, no dead pixels or scratchs as when I got it it had a crack ELO touch screen on top; I removed the broken one since I planned to replace it with a good touchscreen that I got intact off another Profile chassis.... A good ELO GLASS! touch screen & serial controller is also included with the spacer for the Profile's plastic case.
I will sell the Profile with or without the touchscreen & controller according to what the buyer would like as currently the touchscreen if off the unit. Unit is garenteed NON-DOA and working with the disclaimer that there may be slight imperfections such as the plastic case of the unit has issue with the screw mountings since some dummy who didn't have a screw driver took the unit apart before I got it
$200 get's you the base unit shipped (48 lower US states) and add $80 if you want the touchscreen & controller; I paid $150 for the base unit and replaced the LCD driver board, and when I checked with ELO to replace the broken touchscreen, they wanted $300 for the replacment glass touch screen.
If you are interested in the touch screen only, $100 will get it shipped to you...
