Anyone need a USB Digital->Analog Converter ???

New MessageAnyone need a USB Digital->Analog Converter ??? (modified 0 times) topperge
I have found a supplier that can supply us with USB Digital->Analog Converters much like the ones at cablemax and USBGear. There are 2 versions that I can order the first one has just audio out and the second one has both audio input and output lines. My father works with the company and can get us a deal on them, $30 for the one with both in and out and $25 for the one with out only, + shipping and handling from Taiwan. Which should get it to all of us for about $40 and $35 respectively. The units are all powered under the USB bus and are sure to work under both Windows and MAC environments, not sure about linux though. If you guys are interested let me know and I can get these ordered, saco####@msuspartans.com and we can start setting this all up.

this sounds like a good idea for the dlink usb fm radio....do you know if the input for sound is mono or stereo...if it is stereo input then i can take it in my car and listen to mp3's or switch to the fm radio....i could then do away with the head unit. presently i dont have a head unit...and was considering this option till i found out i couldnt get the sound into the iopener without some soldering for the input...have done some soldering but would hate to mess up my iopener if i make a slip up...

Count me in for the one with USB out only. $35 sounds fair.

Hey guys, I have a tracking number for the order and it should be here by Monday at the latest. I have 2 more of the usb->analog out only devices left so its first come first serve. bluejacket2000, CoolBeans, and RedLine you are all confirmed and I have them set aside for you, I'll send you an email on how to get the payments to me. (Yes Steve I found a in and out for you) Whoever emails me first gets the last 2 when they come in. If there is a need for more to be ordered I can do it for you guys. The price may go up or down depending on how many I order. Hope to hear from you soon

the main reason for the post is to move the thread back up to the top.....
i think the in and out dac would solve alot of problems that is being reported about
no sound with v1 bios in a v5 iopener....could hook up speakers and stereo input for d-links
fm radio.....perfect for fm and mp3's in the car.....or at home

and there is no where to get these (except just the out-usb gear) except for topperge
just my opinion though....

Jonathan and BlueJacket have the 2 with in and out reserved already. I got the unit yesterday and can send them out as soon as I get the money. If I didn't email all of you that asked for one of the ones with out only send me another and I'll get you my info asap. I really like the units, the sound quality is great, you don't even have to download any drivers, it all picked up by winblows.

Hey guys, I have one of the normal DACs without In still if anyone wants it. Also the demand has been kinda high that some people want more of the units with both in and out so if you are interested, drop me an email (topperge@msu.edu) I will see how many people need it, I need to order at least 5 to be cost effective

Hey guys,
I just got back from vacation and my mailbox was flooded with people wanting these things so I am definitely going to order another shipment of the in and out adaptors. I put up a quick site with all the information I have on the unit at:

http://www.msu.edu/~topperge/up-ac97.htm

The unit is 4" circular in diameter and the unit inside the plastic case is 2.75" x 2.75" x .5" If anyone else wants one, or I missed your email in my box and you haven't heard from me, send me an email at topperge@msu.edu I hope to have all the units ordered by Wednesday.

Hey, it's working good, but I'm noticing some distortion on the high-end. Anyone else having this problem? It really stands out with MP3s, since they aren't perfect to begin with. I have the model with Line in & Line out.
