Anyone know why Jailbait doesn't come with modprobe? Half of the drivers that I want to load (i.e., kaweth.o, ppa.o) seem to require it. I have downloaded a modprobe binary via ftp, but I've found that I can't write to /sbin! After looking in /etc/fstab, I see that it's been mounted read-only. No matter. A quick remount should solve this problem, right? Wrong. It seems to remount as rw, but it still won't let me write to it. I can only assume that it has something to do with this cramfs thing...

Any help on any of the two issues would be appreciated.. Thanks!

I'm also having this problem... My DSB-650 does not come up, when I try to look through the logs, its full of:
failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k net-pf-4, errno = 2

/sbin/modprobe is not on the system. And looking through the jailbait docs, its not designed to be there???

Any ideas?

2.3.xxxxxx no longer have modprobe; use kmod.

/sbin is one of the cramfs's. You can't write to it unless you make a new cramfs.

I have been able to edit /etc/fstab

Just remount it with:

mount -o remount,rw /
