| I was playing around with the BIOS and Power Management settings in WIN98SE, and now the IO Power button won't shutdown the IO. It actually shuts down when I hold it down for 4 seconds, but if I just press it once, nothing happens. I've checked the BIOS, and it's actually set to Power Off Immediately (as opposed to the 4 second delay), but it's not shutting down immediately.
What settings inside windows can cause this? Obviously it's not a matter of the power button being broken (during a reboot, in the first AMI screen, I can tap the power button and it will shutdown immediately). And how can I get the System Standby option back in the Shutdown Menu? It seems to have disappeared.
The display still shuts itself off as per my settings in the Power Management options (backlight goes off too). But this just doesn't happen with the Power button. (sorry if this msg seems like some older threads, but I could not find any old threads that pertained to this particular Power button question). FIA. | |
