Does jailbait have the necessary drivers for the audio chip inside the IOpeners? I installed in on the sansdisk and when I try to play an mp3 it says: /dev/dsp: No such file or directory. Can someone help me out?

Everything is there that you need. Basically, you have to have a web server set up on another machine, and pull the mp3 across your lan. In our case, we have an iBook running OSX and it comes with a built in web server. We plug into the LAN, and then basically do this at the console:

mpg123 http://172.16.3.2/mp3/mysong.mp3

It'll play, just turn the volume up. If it doesn't work the first time, reboot. It didn't work for us the first time for some reason. Also, the jailbait packages claims to be able to sream mp3's via netscape, but we couldn't get it to work. I wish there were some sort of gui useable. :\ I guess he figures that if we can get it on a network, we can use the network to run a better mp3 player, but there's no samba in jailbait, so I can't use shares off of my lan. There's no scsi support (probably because there's no scsi controller on the IO) so I can't use my Orb Drive, which connects using a USB -> SCSI adapter. If the latter were there I probably wouldn't even buy a 2.5 hard drive. I'd just mount my Orb and be done with it. I wonder if jbaitis even reads this board anymore?

i'm trying to play mp3's off my internal HD, which I mounted (hda1). SO I should be able to play mp3's that way using mpg123 right? However, it gives me that weird message: /dev/dsp: No such file or directory.. any ideas?

What modules can I compile to enable this myself? I've tried unsuccessfully to use the ac97 module.
