Problems with Sound Driver creating black screen then rebooting. Also io temp at 67 degree celsius.

Hello, i'm running win95 B version on my io. After installing the yamaha sound drivers YMA715.. something 715 from yamaha.com , it would tell me to restart which i do, but then when it boots into windows, the screen would blank out and either freeze of restart. I can go throug safemode to uninstall the sound drivers and it boots into normal mode okay. Anyone happen to have a fix for this?

my amd 333 moded iopener is running at 333 mhz, it has a sunon fan (loud). I'm somewhat weary about the temperature of the cpu at 67 degrees celsius and 47 degrees for the motherboard. Anyone know if this is safe for tempeature rane? i'm using mbprobe defaults settings. Thanks.

I know you have been following this board for a while, and I am sure there is a reason you are installing 95B.

But the 98 installed its own drivers for sound, and it works just fine. I am guessing that 95B does not recognize the sound on its own.

That's odd that 95b won't recognize sound, cause win95c worked fine. i'm going with win95b because i was told it is faster than 95c which is faster than 98. Then i heard that win2k pro is faster than win98, so i'm wondering which is faster win95b or win2k.

Anyhow, do you think my io is running too hot at the tempertures of 70 degrees celsius for CPU, and 50 degrees celcius ofr the motherboard?

Has some good info on temps...I just installed Motherboard monitor, and can't remember what settings to use to read temp...I think I used it before...maybe I used a different one.

Any way, I used to run slighly cooler than the temps you are describing.

Found out to my v3 iopener amd 333 mhz moded problem with the blank screen coming on, especially when restarting. as well as it restarts or gets into the black screen on its own. when it gets the black screen i have to shut it down for several seconds before restarting otherwise it would just get the black screen and the harddrive wouldn't run. It's like starting an old car's engine.

Anyhow, i had it running at 333 mhz amd afk with settings 3.5x95mhz , i then changed it to 3.5x66 mhz for at 261mhz and it restarts fine.

So i'm thinking if it has something to do with the heat running at 333mhz? i have a sunon fan on the cpu, and i've taken the back cover off. it just seems to have the problems regardless of how long i've had the iopener on.

what is the best speed and jumper settings to run the iopener amd mod at with just a heatsink/fan on the cpu? Thanks.

my vcore voltage is 2.2

I Think the answer to your question can be found here its alot of info but the heat speed issue is easy to see in these benchmarks. based upon the info in this paper yo should be able to make a decision that will work for you.
