Hi, I've been in discussion with the rather exhausted ASPguy. I've
decided to start another group purchase (especially since I missed
the last one).

The part list will be the same as ASPguy's last purchase:

From Allied Electronics:
2- DIP Switch half pitch 4 Position - - - 766-1134 (To populate SW2 and SW1)

From Digikey:
1- 0.012 ohm, 1 watt, 1%, 2512 (size) - - P12MCT-ND (To Replace R302)
1- 25K resistor - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -P24.9KHCT-ND (To Replace R342)
2- 100K resistor- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - P100KHCT-ND (For R343)
2- 47k resistor - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - P47.5KHCT-ND(For I dont know yet)
1 - 500K pot for R202 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 3006P-504-ND (To Replace R202 to have adjustable vcore)

However, please note the following changes:

a) I'll be shipping by US Priority mail, insured. I'd rather not go through the
hassle of torn or lost packages -- this'll give me a good solid box, etc. to
send it in.

b) There will only be ten kits available. I bought out Allied's switch supply, that'll
be just enough for my needs and ten kits...

c) The price will be $20. (US Priority, insurance, etc.) If anyone wants
theirs shipped the "old way" in a bare envelope, I'll do it for $15, but NO COMPLAINTS
if things are lost/damaged/etc!

The first ten people who submit PayPal payments to steveplatt@home.com will get'em.
Please leave a note in the payment telling me where to send the parts.

I've already ordered the parts (talk about a leap of faith!), and will keep everyone
posted with the shipping status.

Addendum: If you buy more than one the first is $20, subsequent
ones are $15. I won't charge multiple times for the same
shipping costs!!!!

A brief update:

Supposedly, everything has been shipped. Allied's site had said there were 26 switches in stock;
I had ordered all. The next day they emailed me -- they had miscounted/lost a switch and were
holding the whole ____ order because of a 1-switch backorder! I called and changed it from 26 to
25; Tuesday's email says the order has been shipped! (Plenty of switches to go around.)

There are still kits left. Wayne (wthompson) -- I'll need a paypal order for $15 or $20 to confirm
and so I'll know if you want 32-cent-at-risk shipment or USPS Priority insured in their funky
boxes.

ASPGuy -- thanks for the pointer on the fans; I'm sure all will find it useful. Unfortunately
for me, I've already shelled out $20 apiece for the Lasagna coolers I'll need.

Does anyone have an update on the IMOD-3?

Memory: I just got a 128MB SODIMM from Memory2Go -- check another thread for the exact part number.
It fits and works nicely. My only grouch is that they hit me for $3 insurance on top of the $12 Fedex
overnight and the charge wasn't on the web site. (I ordered 2 128's, one SODIMM and one SIMM). The
price, $50 or so, was great though, so I'll forgive them.

That's all. More as parts come in.

DigiKey stuff is in. Still waiting for Allied switches.

I'm borrowing a digital camera this weekend, I hope, to record my travels.

Hi Ziggy, still some left, just paypal and I'll add you to the list. Still
waiting for the switches, hopefully early next week.

Note to all: IMOD-3 kits are back in stock, there's a "kit update info please READ"
thread in I-O General that points somewhere else, but it'll get you started on
those. (Thanks again codeman!!!)

Ph.D. Computer Science, got it in the mid-80s. Programmed every level
from Unix device drivers through AI/Graphics systems. Not a strong
hardware hack, but I definitely know which end of a hot soldering iron
to hold. So I feel safe analyzing and executing design changes (e.g.,
understanding what these changes are doing and soldering the
tiny parts) but would be pushing myself to design them from scratch.

(inviting flames...) As a friend of my family would say,
"Not an M.D., a *real* doctor..."

We're down to one available kit.

I have payments from: Al Abadilla, Gyorgy Horvath, Wayne Thompson, Devid Freels (2 kits),
David Rowe, Michael McMonagle. (And two for me.)

Kurt Kiefer: you dropped me a note and I wrote back, but never heard from you after that.
Are you still interested? (better hurry...)

We're still waiting for the Allied switches. Supposedly, they went out on the 11th, UPS
ground. If they're not in tomorrow, I'll call for a tracking number.

The switches are in.

I just packed up the boxes; they go out tomorrow (except for Mike -- I need your
address!) USPS Priority, insured, might actually get to you by Friday or
Saturday (dream on).

Note to all: They are shipping in the USPS Priority small box (around 7"x4"x1").
Inside you'll find some crumpled newspaper and a #10 envelope. Inside the envelope
you'll find a set of 6 labeled coin envelopes (2"x4", approx.). Open the coin
envelopes carefully! Each contains one or two parts of the marked size, and some
of the parts are very small (and can get lost easily). Note the resistors are
still in their packing tape, but for the smallest, this tape is perhaps just a
little larger than 1/8"x1/4".

Two kits left if anyone is interested; I think I'm only going to convert one of
my IOs.

Take care,

Steve
