IO Keyboard and Logitec PS2 mouse, not using the USB port

I'm trying to hookup a seperate mouse to my IO. Am using the USB for something else. Have tried a PS2 splitter that has a keyboard PS2 and a mouse PS2. Will not recognize the mouse. The goal is to use the IO keyboard and a seperate PS2 mouse.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

You need to Disable(UnHook) the I-Opener Mouse Data & Clock Wires.
I would open the keyboard & Do it where these wires connect.
Should be Wires running to Pins 2 & 6 of the Male PS/2 Connector (* =Key)

5 * 6
3 4
1 2

My Notes show it could be Yellow & Gray wires or Red & Gray wires.
Do this @ Your Own Risk !

I have No Idea What Your Splitter is doing to the I-Opener KeyBoard Signals.
The Problem is The KeyBoard & Mouse Signals are reversed from Normal PC positions.
That is why You Plug these into the Wrong ports of the Splitter to get them to Work.
If You use the I-Opener KeyBoard thu the Splitter
it could put these signals on the same Pins as the Mouse
& it could still Not Work! Use a Real PC KeyBoard.
The Cord on the I-Opener KeyBoard is the Only thing of Value I See on it.

The other Pins of the Male PS/2 I-Opener KeyBoard Connector above are:
1 KBDATA
3 GND
4 +5V
5 KBCLK

Red and Grey did the job.
Now have the IO kb and a PS2 mouse working.

Thanks a bunch.

amargiot: just to confirm: you opened the keyboard and sniped red and gray, right? The ones towards the edge of the chassis?

I want to use this keyboard too since my I-O is for playing MP3s and sits next to the stereo. I don't want a huge honking keyboard sitting around, especially if all you need to use to run it is the mouse.

Also, once you snipped, I presume you plugged it into the "mouse" half of the splitter, right?

yes, i did open the kbd. rather than snip the wires, I was able to pull them out of the connector.
and yes the IO kbd is plugged into the 'mouse' side of the splitter.

good luck
