i cannot get the qnx prompt on a v4. i want to flash the bios, and i can't get the osiw$6.4 password to work. i am sure it is either a v4 or a v5. do i really need to flash the bios to put linux on the i-o? why will it not work currently. i have searched for threads on this, but none have been helpful. please please help me.

what i meant by "work currently" is why do i have to flash the bios? will it not boot off a normal hd without doing this? thanks in advance

i don't believe you can get into qnx in v4 or v5, and even if you could, you probably can't dial out to download the v1 bios. all the versions except for the v1 (obvious) needs the v1 bios to be able to boot into harddrive.

so use a harddrive that has the iopener qnx image on it, then run the program to flash the bios.

check out the posts on this. you will have to get your bios flashed. you can purchase one from badflash.

There is a QNX flash for the V4 and you can flash it without buying a chip from me. Easier to buy chip, sure, but no sport in that right? Try this: (and don't ask me what this means-I don't know how to do this!)

Oh yea, if you have a V5 (no Yamaha sound chip) you need to come over for a visit. No one I know of has cracked the password for the V5 or figured out how to get into the bios setup.
