Play Tribes 3d Player Shooter Game on the IOPENER (modified 0 times) ASPguy Profile | Email I was shocked to find that this amd 333mhz , 128 ram modded iopener plays Tribes, a 3d shooter game, well. it's fast, and the graphics aint that bad compared to our Dell desktop which has an 8meg video card that is worse than the iopeners video. i actually played the game over the network, accessing the Tribes program files throug a 10mbits lan. My 540 harddrive didn't have enough room to install the game on the iopener. So i just access the Tribes game through the lan. Cool. Tribes is the ultimate team player 3d shooting game that puts Quake3 and Unreal Tournament to shame. By the way, i own and played the later 2 a few times, but fell addicted for Tribes, a game that cost only $20. get your copy today! I'll be using the nickname I-Opener when playing tribes with my io. Though i DO wonder if maby some day later down the LINE will find out that the iopener has a TRUE BLADE3D video chip, only a laptop LVD (low voltage device) style GPU that just has a new fancy name and no current 3D drivers. Using the video out port. I'V gotten decent DVD playing SO its got the hardware to assist in DVD, just not MPEG2 decoding. 12-22-2000 14:31:18

RE:Play Tribes 3d Player Shooter Game on the IOPENER (modified 0 times) ASPguy Profile | Email i spent 4 hours last night trying to get my voodoo2 1000 video card to work. well it doesn't. cause in the directx "display2" test for the direct3d and directdraw it didn't work. the other video card that was there an 8 meg nvidia worked in display1. the voodoo accompanies the nvidia. this explain why in tribes it wouldn't play in fullscreen and in need for speed 4 it was a blank screen. i downloaded the latest drivers last night for the voodoo which is dated summer 2000. any help is appreciated. i've tried the voodoo drivers. i've tried using the drivers from the voodoo disk as well. how do you uninstall directx? i can't find the uninstall anywhere. thanks. 12-22-2000 14:58:14

I WOULD to behonist suggest FORMATING your hard drive and starting from scratch. you can realy F your self up by installing OLDER VERSION'S of 3dfx software. and OLDER DX drivers over newer ver's. puts a lot of REGESTRY ENTRIES IN. RE:Play Tribes 3d Player Shooter Game on the IOPENER (modified 0 times) ASPguy Profile | Email well it's a voodoo2 1000 pci. but i figured out the problem to that. i had forgotten to plug in the wire that goes from the pc 2d nvidia card to the voodoo. haha but then after doing that i still can't play need for speed 4. it'll get in , play the movie, then blanks out. i took the voodoo out, then it gave some exclamation mark error when it tried to start the game at all. wierd. 12-23-2000 23:30:49

MDK... a little older game..but looks great on i-opener...great music (modified 0 times) Johnson Profile Try it on the I-opener.. really fun game and runs fantastically on the I-opener too.. it's called 'MDK', but the new version MDK 2 is very 3d card dependant... the geforce 2 card is being made for the pcmcia slots...wonder if there's a way to plug one into the i-opener? 12-27-2000 05:00:59
