I just got my hands on an i-opener. However I cant get at the bios or the post screen (using ctr-alt-esc, ctr-alt-f12 & tab). The i-opener works fine so I know its not a bad bios image that's on there now (it should be what ever was installed at the factory. I've popped open the system and it seems to be a rather odd system overall. It has a rise 266mhz CPU rather then the 200mhz WinChip C6, it also has no epoxy on the bios chip itself. Any ideas on what the version is and what BIOS chip I'll need?
Thanks,
Josiah Fizer

RE:Cant get into bios on new i-opener. (modified 0 times)
you may have the v4 or v5 because of the rise cpu. those were none for not having the qnx terminal screen work or bios work.
you'll need to get or flash your bios with v1 bios if you have a v4 , and a v5 special bios if you have a v5. you can purchase the bios chips from badflash.com
to tell if you have the v5 or v4. v5 has another sound chip other than yahama.

Well, since the place where the sound chip should be (next to the Via chipset) is empty I'm going to guess that I've got a V5. Thanks for the information.
