Network Connection Lost After Return From Doze

Anyone no how to solve the problem of the IO's network connection being lost while it is "sleeping"? I have a LinkSys USB network adapter with a V5 IO w/badflash BIOS. Problem is that when the IO wakes up, via a key press, it has lost it's network connection and I have to unplug/plug the USB cable to get it to restore the network connection.

Is there a way to just turn off the IO's display, including backlight, without having the thing go into doze/sleep mode after a set time? Windows 98 DPMS does not seem to work correctly and/or seems to conflict with the BIOS settings in these areas.

Thanks! -don

There's a setting for this (can't remeber exactly where). It's either in the power management control panel setting (if you're running win9x), or in the device manager setting for the device (ctl panel->system->device mgr) - Select the network device and hit properties.

I had to do the same thing for my smc usb network....not 100% sure that the linksys has the same setting.

Cheers,

As for having to replug the cable: logging out of windows, and re-logging in may accomplish the same thing. (still a pain of course)
