RE:SMT Repair kit - $2.88 @ RS Online. (modified 0 times) Turbo3 Profile Just got my order in too. The "tip thinner" is indeed "tip tinner" for keeping your tip tinned. There are two types of solder included. The "1 lb" one is really only 1/4 lb of 60/40 0.031" solder which is really too large for surface mount components. However there is a tube (0.35 oz) of 63/37 0.020" solder which is a much better size. I use 0.015" solder but don't know of any retail source for it. Fry's sells the 0.031 for $10 for 1 lb so that alone covers most of the cost. The vacuum handling tool was a disappointment. It is really too large for the small caps and resistors we need to solder. It would work fine on larger IC chips. There is 5 feet of "No Clean Braid" for removing solder from the board which is very handy to have and a rosin flux pen which I have never seen before but looks handy for applying a small amount of flux before soldering. So if you got in on this buy you made a smart move. All you need to add are two small soldering irons (second one used to heat the other end when removing parts) and you are all set to make surface mount changes. Just surf to /http://www.chemtronics.com/ and click on "Request a sample/Info" in the middle, at the bottom. This costs nothing, and it is really the best stuff you can find.
