Just got my first v3b IO and want to get started. I've got an Abit BH6 handy to flash the BIOS, but want to make sure that the hacked v5 bios is the way to go.
Now to go find those BH6 flash procedures and wait for the IMOD3 kits to become available again...
Thanks!

also i think hehe we need a patition to on the fact that we need ;) programmer to use a BIOS back up program to save ALL settings of the BIOS and distribute it. so we dont have to try are luck at seperating the dang usb from teh VIDEO.

So the sound issue is only a potential problem if I plan to run games under DOS, right? Other OS's and straight Win98 compliant games don't have issues then, if that's true. Let me know if I've got that wrong.
So is the 'hot' flash pretty straight forward or should I have badflash take care of it?

I don't know if it works on a V5 audio chip, but I've used a DOS-based MP3 player on my Yamaha-based V1 to play MP3s on CD-ROM. Boot from SanDisk, load DOS CDROM drivers and sound drivers, and run the DOS-based MP3 player.
I've forgotten if there were any special tweaks I had to do, but I *do* know it worked.
