guys, I am new to this.I thought I had all parts necessary for my hack. I need some help on finding the cable that connect directly to the drive and then to the hacked cable. I have a 4 gig Toshiba and a 2 gig IBM. I've tried their sites but no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated. :o>

Go to fciconnect.om and click on the "Sample Request" button in the left column.

In the first sample box put part number 89947-144 (qty 2) these are the connectors.

In the second sample box put the part number 91820-044 (qty 12 inch) this is the cable.

In the third sample box put the part number 62453-022 (qty 2) this is the socket for the compact flash hack.

In the fourth sample box put the part number 69255-005 (qty 2) this is the ethernet jack (I think) for the internal USB ethernet hack. You don't really need these last two, I was just hoping you might send one of each (or both) to me just because you like me

Wow, I like this FCI Connect sample request form!
Do you know if they have a limit, or would be unwilling to send you other products, etc?
There are many many parts that I want only one or two of... but they only list for on the sample request.

I suppose after you don't buy anything from them after a bunch of sample requests, they might get suspicious.

Thanks!

Ooops, I meant to ask one more thing:
How long did it usually take for the sample to arrive?

They sent me an email saying that they couldn't find my company in recent phone books... Looks like I won't be getting a sample. Also, I'm a little worried about legal troubles, as she passed me along to another representative...

WARNING: Unless you have a legit business, they might not be too happy to receive your request.

I work for a decent sized semiconductor company and can easily get samples if you guys need some. (hell, we even have a lot of components lying around) I personally only need to order components for the 44pin IDE cable as they are hard to find and will take similar requests. No random stuff please.

My current wish list
---------------------
p/n 63453-044 ( http://catalog.fciconnect.com/fci/red/datasheet/datasheet.asp?ProductNumber=63453-044 )
--> used to extend those damn cut pins Netpliance tried screwing me with

p/n 89947-144 --> mentioned above

p/n 91820-044 --> mentioned above

and any other useful crap I can find at the following link....
http://www.fciconnect.com/catalog/electronics_pt_06_01.asp

P.S. I'm planning on ordering by end of week

i recommend ordering atleast _3_ 2mm x 44pin connectors to make the hard drive cables. to make a cable that is like this: |-----|| 1 connector on one end and 2 side-by-side on the other end and use the center 2 rows of pins. i find this the easiest way to make cables with the least trouble. good luck
