Yes, You Should Buy them from BADFLASH !
Having Said that, I just Did 5 of them with No Problems.
Since You will have your Bootable I-Opener apart & laying on it's Face,
It's Nice to have Done the VGA Out Adaptor.
(Don't Break the Display ! & You don't want to Press the Power Button, when You seat the New Chip)
I used a 1" thick piece of stiff packing foam with the Power button hanging off.
You Need to be in DOS.
Run "FLASH821.exe"
SAVE your Old Bootable BIOS.
LOAD "V5BIOS_patched.BIN" (Current File of CHOICE, Works with All Verions of I-Openers)
Before You press ENTER to ReProgram the BIOS
USE a PLCC Chip Extractor (Radio Shack 276-2101 $10)
It's Tight Next to the Power Plug (19VDC In)
Extract the Good Bios Chip.
Always Observe Pin #1 (The Dimple & the 45 degree Corner)
***** This is the HARD PART ! *****
Place the Non Bootable V5Bios chip in the Empty socket.
(a small Suction Cup on the End of a stick would be Perfect)
Gently Press it straight down.
Press ENTER to FLASH This Chip.
Ignore the 2 Error Messages.
the System will Reboot, Proving the New FLASH.
If You have More than One to Do, Just repeat from here.
Once You have a Bootable Bios, You Don't HotFlash.
Just Run the Flasher & Whatever Bios You want to Try.
You Can Kill Your System doing this ! You have Been Warned.
