Here's the latest on the kits:
- The PolyFuses finally arrived from Mouser yesterdayday, 8 days after ordering.
- I decided to bite the bullet (not bu11et, OK?) and ordered the proper upright style USB connector, and sh*tcan the right angle connectors that required physical modification to work. This will allow the install to be as painless as possible. This also turned the project into a completely non-profit exercise, since it appears that it's only available from one source who can charge big $ for it. But it's still worth it to me to do what I can to give back to the cool people that have provided so much to the BBS. The connectors are shipping UPS Ground, ETA of 5-7 days.
- Everyone that has placed an order and already paid via PayPal will get the kits with the new connector at the $15 price. Any new orders after this message is posted will be priced at $17 so I don't lose my ass completely. I ordered enough of the PolyFuses and new connectors to cover 45 kits, so order away by sending $17 via PayPal to BubbaDog56@ev1.net.
- Anyone that has placed an order and just can't wait can email me, and I'll send your kit with the old connector. However, even if you're going to hardwire an internal device, it would be good to have the right connector in case you decide to remove the hardwire and go with a connector somewhere down the road.
