I bought some memory a month or so ago so I don't actually need any now. But I though it might be nice to let people know where the deals are now. There are several places listing 128 MB SODIMMs for cheap at the moment. Previously I just grabed what everyone else did, but how do I (or anyone else) tell which will work in the i-opener?

OfficeExpress.com

Just to clarify, CAP161-128MB (iBook memory) is the proper part number to ask for when ordering from MemoryToGo. A number of people have reported good luck with this module so, like KneuB_2, I'm following the crowd.

The only good way to determine whether or not is to check how many chips are on the sodimm.

You need 8 chips for 128MB

You need 16 chips for 256MB (these do exist)

it has to do with the number of row/column lines that the chipset is capable of making available.
