I have looked around for info on booting without a keyboard. I haven't found anything. Is there any way to make a keyboard "loopback" to fool the I-Opener into thinking a keyboard is connected? I'd like to do this and use a Windows based mouse keyboard for a GPS hack I'm doing. The less parts, the better.

I've seen a V3 do it. No additional hacks needed. Just leave the kb unplugged. First set bios to halt on no errors.(no access to bios without a kb, he he.)

The iopener BIOS does not need a keyboard to boot nor does windows. When I run my iopener with a GPS unit in a car I only have a USB optical mouse and the GPS unit installed. The GPS unit needs 5v so I just plug it right into the empty KB/Mouse jack. Runs just fine.

I use the Rand McNally GPS unit. I use their software for the US and DeLorme RWE for both inside and outside the country. DeLorme comes with a low res map of the world. If you get a window seat in the plane you can plot your route. It is interesting to see a speed of 580 MPH and 20,000+ feet show up on the display. (I use a regular notebook computer on the plane and iopener in the car).
