Best BIOS settings.
After a number of changes, who knows what bios settings actually work best?

As I was farting around the machine, trying to get my DOSsandisk to boot again,

I noticed during the boot that I was getting a note that said the memory timing should be "2". I don't know how many times that note had popped up, probably ever since I got the thing.

Anyway I go into the bios and notice the memory timing is set to 3. So I change the 3 to a 2 and reboot, no more note.

OK so my point is that I am sure there are optimum BIOS settings to get the most performance out of the little machine.

I think the memory timing depends on what memory you have installed.
I believe system bios cache should be disabled, but what about video bios cache.
Right now the 4 DRAM settings are FAST...should they be?

Anyway I think you get the point. Some of you out there have rock solid running machines, do us a favor and jot down what settings seem to work best for you.

Thanks.
Mick

Ok, so I read an article at TargetPC.com

It says you can max out the memory settings including cache.

Well I have my memory set at Turbo now...don't really notice a difference.

cas2 latence is the BEST setting you can have for the memory, Weather turbo sets it to that or not i dont know. but a memory ratted at 2-2-2 will go much faster then 2-2-3 or 2-3-2. ect..

We realy need to get the video/cache memory installed on the IO'S. I'v noticed a LOT of speed difference using the IO when in no vmem and enabling Vmem. video's run faster (less choppy, games and programs are quicker to load) With the video/cache memory installed this would increase the load speed even more.

How is this done?
