AMD K6 III in a v4 (with pics)?

I just purchased an AMD K6 III processor to upgrade my v4a/b iOpener. I am not sure what version I have. I think it is a v4a but hope I am wrong. If it is a version 4a, what are my options? I am not comfortable with making MB modifications, but I don’t need it to run at 333Mhz, I just want the added cache. Thanks for any help!

See the little switch above the memory slot in the first picture.....that makes this board a V4b or a V5. If it has a Yamaha sound chip, it's a v4b. That switch is necessary to adjust the cpu voltage.....it can be added by a solder job to enable voltage changes on versions v4 and earlier, the voltage adjustment being necessary to support the AMD chips.

I don't know what the proble is with the links to the pictures. If you cut and paste the links it works fine, but the direct link doesn't. I have the Yamaha chip and know that it is not a version five. I didn't think I had the sw4 switch because the lable was so far over from that switch. I am very glad that I do though!
Thanks for the response ckbone.

Ok, I have looked through hundreds of posts, but am still unclear as to what settings I should use. I have an AMD-K6-III/333AFK (2.2V CORE/3.3V I/O). I need to set SW4 to get 2.2v, correct? What are the jumper settings to accomplish this. Thanks again.

{if the link doesn't work, cut and paste it}

Ok, in the picture above, both of the sw4 switches are in the on position, correct? To set the Vcore to 2.2v, I need to push the 2nd switch (the one close to the memory slot) to the off position (to the left). Sorry for the low technical nature of the post, I just want to make sure I don't fry my iOpener or chip. As for heating problems, is the red arrow pointing to the metal on Q16 where a heat fin can be added? Do I have to worry about shorting it out when I put it on? Your response is greatly appreciated. Thanks
