Hi,

Does anyone know if the I/O is able to supply the power for a regular 40GB 7200RPM drive externally attached on the back of the I/O? If so, any pointer to the modifications will be appreciated.

probably not....the current requirements are too great. Most people who use an external full-size hard drive, power it from an external power supply. Badflash sells a small one that should work just fine.
