Ok guys.. i have tried the pinouts from com 1 and com 2.. to no avail. is there something i am missing.. What are the exact pinouts for the headers.. and the pin leads for the actual serial ports.. i just ripped apart a set that was laying around.... i have removed the modem.. as well as the phone jacks.. (thats where i mounted the 2 serial ports) I am running Win95..

any ideas are appreciated..

Vik:

A search of the BBS for 'RS232' or 'serial' will likely yield the well known pinout for both com ports. As I mentioned in our email, the use of the com ports is fairly straight forward. I would think that if both ports fail and you've checked the issues discussed in the email, you may be looking at an application problem and not the ports. Email me with your details and I'll be happy to see if I can help.

The com ports are TTL, not standard RS232, checkout BadFlash's RS232 mod at http://www.badflash.com or search for RS232 and com port. You need the Maxim MAX253 chip mod. to make com2 a standard RS232.
